I think Bluesky has effectively already killed Mastodon. Now Gargron is stuck dealing with only the absolute worst of them. Which is unfortunate because Mastodon is a little more free than Bluesky.
I think it's significantly more free, but it'll pull through on the versus BlueSky front. It'll just take a good while. BlueSky astroturfing will win big in the beginning, then people will want to go back to a more mature Mastodon once they realize it's not what they were promised, even they somehow lose their account they'll stumble down to Nostr.
