Depending on their cell carrier, they may be able to save some money by upgrading their phone plan to include mobile hotspot, and foregoing a seperate internet connection from Comcast, or Time-Warner, or whichever carrier serves his area. Those broadband internet services can be $100 or more, and that would be $100 less he has to come up with each month. He could also do a Verizon or T-Mobile standalone internet service if putting it all on his phone plan doesn't work. Those 5G home internet plans are $35-$50/mo for unlimited data, which is still a considerable savings compared with the cable companies.

That is not the problem. Saving $50-$100 a month isn’t going to turn anything around. I might as well just suggest they sell their car and cruise around town on roller skates.
I was only referring to your comment about them nit having enough money to pay their phone and internet bill. I wasn't intending it to be a solution to their underlying problems.
