Just finished watching The Seventh Seal, a Swedish movie from the 1950's. Really well done memento more. I recommend it.

A true classic by this point!
The motive of the death playing chess with the night, is something Bergman saw painted in a Swedish Medival Chruch, just north of Stockholm. It's a cool visit.
I saw it the first time this summer and the vickar showed us around, with much enthusiasm.
If visitng Sweden I could really recommend a visit in Täby Kyrkby, where the 13th century church stands.

The whole church was painted in the 15th century, so there's lots more to see! But that's the most famous motive ofc ;)
