Redesigning my favorite Lightning Network search engine for fun (hire me, please).

I'm sure many of you are familiar with 1ml.com. Here's a short list of issues I noticed with the website, and how I attempted to solve them.

1. Logo and Name

I noticed a discrepancy between the website and Twitter. On Twitter, they go by @LNstats, which stands for "Lightning Network statistics". This name seems much better to me than 1ML. I checked, and lightningstats.com is available. If this were a real client, I would propose a slow transition to new branding and domain.

2. Dark theme first, mobile first.

A dark theme doesn't have to be the default, but it should certainly be an option for all you night owls out there.

I used a compact UI to display as much information as possible without sacrificing clarity. The current website often wastes space, resulting in much more scrolling and disconnected parts with the same kind of information.

3. Node page

The node page was challenging since there's a lot of data to display. Channels contain a lot of information and values.

4. Search funtion was missing from pages other than home.

Feel free to click around the Prototype:

Would be awesome if the person behind 1ML could see this.

Nice job, great attention to detail, deserves more attention!! Zapped⚡

A repost would be appreciated too ser :)

Mention + Comment > Repost 😀

However, also reposted!

One thing I do miss from the bird app is quoting messages and adding thoughts.

Anyone know if there is a NIP on the topic?

The NIP-18 was about reposting (kind 6) but has been archived, even if still widly used.

NIP-10 explain how to manage mentions.

I agree it's an interesting and quite important topic, I don't know why is discussed so little.

This is a first question about this issue: https://t.me/nostr_protocol/71647

And few day ago I discussed the matter again: https://t.me/nostr_protocol/93742 (follow down the discussion)

(Thanks for the zap 🙏)

I still dont fully understand the dynamic here. What works what doesnt. How different clients show content. Its wild

It can be disorienting, for sure. Right now there are a lot of clients and each is playing catch up trying to implement all the NIPs (or implement the ones that they care about).

I've actually just seen this thread back on Snort and it's completely different looking to what I was seeing on Damus.
