I look forward to the day when a legit expedition happens without asking for permission (think people flying a stealth plane with plenty of fuel for the return journey)

The admiral Byrd stuff is definitely interesting

That ice is a scarce natural resource and the only thing stopping all of the oceans from instantly boiling. It must be protected at all costs.
