I remember member learning in my parents driveway at 14. 2nd, 4th, and 5th cars were manuals. Good times. Hope I get to drive one again someday
'79 VW Bug convertible is what I learned on; very forgiving. Only could do 60mph so highways was sketchy. Don't get caught in the rain; windshield wipers had but one speed!

I had to learn how to drive with manual transmission in a hilly area. It was a nightmare. I was so happy when my parents bought me a car with automatic transmission.
