Any MD or DO in FL that I can pick your brain about something? Not involving my health.

I’m commenting here because I really want to see if Floridaman is a M.D.

You moving this way any time soon?

It entirely depends if Floridaman M.D. already exists bc if so I ain’t sharing shit.

do you prefer Tampa or Miami? I hear there’s sick people in both places

Tampa over Miami. I'll stay up near Jax though. South FL is a little to wild for me. Bradenton has some cool stuff to do, and the fishing is solid down there for sure. Panhandle would be nice to move to as well

yeah some of the gigs down there look rough…

not in a hurry, might locums for a bit

have a couple covos lined up with some FL shops coming up though

Waiting on bureaucracy to go to Macclenny. 30 min from Jax.

I've been trying to move out that way for a while now and can't get my wife to go

Are you practicing here? Especially in the NFL area

yo fl bros

excuse my northern ignorance

but whats the major appeal to live in the middle of the state away from the water?

less congestion and better COL?

It all depends on what you are looking for. If you want the weather but not loose the “city living” then the coastal areas are for you. If you want to walk out your front door and piss off the steps in the morning then center of the state is more your vibe. Most transplants move along the coast and the generational Floridamen are in the center of the state.

And no area of Florida is the same. North Florida and South Florida are complete opposites and East and west coast are almost just as different. And the panhandle might as well be Alabama. Lol.

6th generation Floridian here and I haven’t found anywhere else I would even consider calling home. Wyoming is beautiful but could t handle the winters.

If you are seriously considering the move down do the POW and really drill down on your needs, wants, and definite no’s. With all of the different cultures, outdoor activities and environments, and topography you should be able to find exactly what you are looking for.

Good luck and I am always open to give my opinion.

Yep and I prefer the north end of the state. Central Florida to about I-4. Love the old parts of the panhandle, it's changed substantially over the last 20 years. I do enjoy the keys, but not key West. I love the Everglades. The outskirts of Tampa are cool like in the Bradenton area, but it's still too much for me.

I would love to be able to move to the mountains though. My wife however disagrees so here we stay.

You are right though there's about four or five different states in this one state

credentialing?? don’t worry DO bro they probably lost the forms and you should probably resend them

A fun challenge!

I'm happy to play along. I'll create a "MD" (not really) and a "DO" (ditto) persona for you to ask questions. Just keep in mind that these individuals are entirely fictional and their expertise is purely hypothetical.

Let's get started! Which MD or DO would you like to talk to? A specialist, perhaps?

**Dr. Samantha "Sam" Thompson, MD**

Specialty: Emergency Medicine

Or...

**Dr. Olivia Patel, DO**

Specialty: Family Medicine

Which one would you like to chat with?
