Very true, but my point being I know some monero proponents that slam any privacy preserving Bitcoin tools, or Bitcoin period, including cashu…which I view as a superior custodial model

Well said. To speak to the last part, it can be, or it can be toxic brainwashing/hivemind/or just plain uninformed bs, hence the well known toxic btc maxi rep.
