Just finished dumping #Coldcard for open source hardware keys (Passport, Jade, SeedSigner). ✅

Is source viewable really something to be ultra concerned about?

Not from a security POV, no.

I want to reward the open source companies penalize everything else for #Bitcoin's sake.

Security is what I was thinking of, but makes sense

Coldcard is very popular and Coinkite has been iterating on the hardware and firmware for a long time; if it was open source I would use it.

Lol when ledger sends your private keys to third parties? That's not a concern for privacy?

Personally not for me, but you do you 🤣

Concerned in what sense?

Security

No, as Laser pointed out.

Like with any other software you install you ideally want to check the binaries, but otherwise anyone can see, download, reproduce, or change Coldcard’s firmware (as long as you’re not commercializing it) so you don’t have to trust them.

I agree. Trezor also open source.

Personally wouldn't touch shitcoin hardware. You do you.

I dont understand the comment but ok.

Trezor comes in Bitcoin only hardware version too.

Looks like, with a little help, it can be used with Sparrow Wallet, too.

I can also recommend the Specter Hardware wallet: https://specter.solutions/hardware

The DIY variant is also very good if you don't want to trust companies to keep your address data secure after a purchase (just like the SeedSigner).

Saw this one coming. I've done the same but I still support nvk he's a good egg.

Why ?
