Are there any clients that automatically mute/hide non-verified accounts?

What's a non-verified account?

Exactly

It's literally a NIP-05 address being filled in or not. IDK why this is so controversial

I don't want to see anything from npubs with no NIP-05 filled in:

That would be a nice feature, but a NIP-05 is hardly an account verification because they are easy and cheap to set up. I think filtering by presence of nip-05 is a step toward filtering by "established" nip-05 servers and then we have a permissioned system.

It's cheap to setup, but still a hurdle regardless.

It's lame to see bots and reply guys on here

It is super lame. I would just hate to see clients only displaying notes from "approved" servers. I have wanted to block whole nip-05 servers, though (mostr-pub).

Agreed. And I would want all of this user controlled. A simple checkbox in this case

Not sure about that exact setting but Nostur has a web of trust setting that hides any accounts outside your web of trust. You can set it to be only your follows, or follows of follows. Works well.

That's good to know. I would think this would be a pretty simple implementation to have a setting where if an npub doesn't have a nip-05 address filled in, I want it muted
