Hmmm, I know so many EV owners, including ourselves, we live in the UK and have never known any vehicles to explode. If the rise in regular car fires jumped up, that would never get reported in this way. People are more likely to be concerned by the unreliable public charging network we’ve got than this. Scaremongering!!
You are right to an extent.
The title is a bit attention seeking and the actual numbers are less scary: 89 incidents involving cars in 2022, and 118 in 2023.
Spread across a million cars in the UK it is not a lot, but it is a risk and it can cause major problems where lots of cars are parked in small places, like airports.
I am certain an EV was the cause for the recent fire in Luton airport in spite of the nonsensical official cause.
