its gross, substract to this world record high tax and you get a good idea of the situation

And cost of living I much lower in the USA.

There are no correct numbers, they are dpenending highly by the area. New York, Silicon Valley/Bay Area is extremely expensive. Rust belt for example is extremely cheap.
