Its a lot better for you. I need to de Google as YouTube is the one last thing I know is a net negative. But I know its going to take significantly more effort.
I am degoogled, no gmail and use brave browser and search. YouTube is a difficult beast to control. But at least when you use YouTube on Brave there are not adds all the time.
I've been able to scale back YouTube by installing newpipe on Graphene OS via Fdroid then adding all my channel subscriptions.
