simple mobile tools is in the process of being bought by non-privacy respecting ZipoApps.

if you use any of the simple apps on android (like me) because you wanted a solid privacy-respecting app, didn't want ads or privacy-invasive tracking...read the article below.

a fork is happening, but either way, it looks like it's time to jump ship...now

Dang; I appreciate the alert!

you bet. let's hope the #fossify fork stays true to the og sa mission

Thanks for the update. Call it a weird intuition but I feel like I stayed away from that ecosystem because it seemed like that was their direction.

good intuition. i was particularly fond of gallery. rip. i am interested to see what happens with the #fossify fork though

Loved gallery, calendar, and notes. Sad to hear the news.....

same. let's hope the fork holds true

THX for the heads up!

I just uninstalled SimpleNotes. Wasn't too happy with it too. "Notally" seems to be an awesome alternative.

Dangit. Seriously? That's upsetting.

Heard that too yeah.

Just uninstalled Simple Gallery and replaced with Aves....kinda like it and I feel better now.

awesome. tbh, wasn't a huge fan of aves when i tried it, but if it comes down to it. ok. i like that it's on #accrescent. hopefully #fossify will carry the torch. simple gallery wasn't perfect, but it was the best privacy respecting, open source photo app out there imo

thanks for the heads up! followed!

i'm looking for alternatives and will check out aves.. calendar seems more difficult to find a good one that allows import/export of ics files..

any additional info on fossify? like when and where maybe?

my bad.. just found fossify on github, but the apps don't seem quite ready yet..

It's a huge let down. What could have been done to prevent this?

fr. nothing. dev wasn't in it for the long haul and sold tf out smh

Did any numbers get disclosed? I have a feeling it's not even for a big amount.

last i read it was not disclosed and the dev had been silent. not cool

This is the beauty of open source. These companies have a tendency to seel out. Luckily the code is available to fork and carry on the torch.

This is exactly the behavior we're all sick of. This is why we're here.
