I cannot believe I’ll be back in school on Monday after 6 years of HVAC

Community College may be looked down upon, but I am so beyond excited. STLCC is a beautiful campus. A debt free way for me to go after my theatre dreams.

I tried to convince my dad to go to school with me, as his biggest regret was leaving University of Illinois Urbana in the 70s. He says he’s too old, I think I’m too old to go back to college so I understand.

If you dont become a debt slave to the banksters you are lifetimes ahead.

Yes, I did a program in highschool called the A+ program, where I tutored students in exchange for a free two years of Community College. I didn’t think it would still be valid as I graduated in 2019, but when I registered for class it still was active!

Well done. What do you want to do with cc credits?

I’m going into theatre & history, planning on attaining my teaching degree as I always wanted. The great thing about Stl’s CC is that if you do really well, you’re able to transfer to get your bachelor’s degree for basically free. They have a lot of great scholarships and programs.

i went back at like 29 or 30.

best decision i made.

^.^

do you guys know about the Saylor Academy? https://www.saylor.org/ might be interesting for your Dad!

Also, as a fellow theatre "kid", go get it! Proud of you for going back to school 🫂

It's never too late 💜 I always think of one of my friend's mum who went to college at 45 surrounded by teenagers, and got the degree she always wanted.

Proud of you 🫂 and big hug to your dad!

My Dad has been taking college classes in retirement for fun. In his state it’s free when you’re over a certain age. Have fun studying. It can be an amazing experience.

Just like the other folks here say, it’s never too late! The years will pass by no matter what you do, having achieved a goal on the other side is the payoff - regret is its antonym.

That’s amazing! 🌟 It’s never too late to chase your dreams, and doing it debt-free makes it even better. STLCC sounds like the perfect place to start your theatre journey!

Debt free is key! Champaign -Urbana! Miss it. Grew up in the area
