We can't. But we can teach others digital self defense. Tor, Bitcoin or Monero, Nostr are your friends.
Decentralized freedom tech.
Encryption and low/old tech.
We need open source phones to become a mainstream option.
Not fully possible, but you can mitigate.
Here are a handful of action steps that do not require massive shifts in lifestyle:
-Older vehicle
-Bike to locations when possible
-No *smart home* gadgets
-GrapheneOS on your phone
-Virtual machines on your computer
-Keep your phone out of the room you are in as much as possible
-Cover the cameras on your devices
-Get together with people in low-tech environments
-Burner email addresses and phone numbers
-NonKYC bitcoin stack
-Freedom tech like Tor, Nostr, Keet, Mullvad, IVPN, SimpleX Chat, and Signal
-Shop local markets and stores as much as possible and use cash instead of card (or btc with those who accept it)
