If the digital world goes to hell one day, radio πŸ“» may be the only way to keep civilization in touch.

Do you have any?

lol yeah but who the hell would be broadcasting with no power πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚

I want to think that someone will have better resources than me to transmit.

LOL opportunity here. we could have our own pirate radio station πŸ“» πŸ“‘

If everything else goes to hell, I would consume anything that shows the rest of civilization.

Many. Shortwave. hand helds. I need LoRa

I’m looking for a good option.

Here's a great resource for receivers and other associated gear.

https://ccrane.com/

I appreciate the information. I’m going to check.

Start with:

1) Amateur Radio

(Canadians: https://krisconstable.com/getting-your-ham-radio-licence-in-canada/)

I've been in two states of emergency -- ham radio is nerdy otherwise, but in an emergency you become a hero helping people find/communicate with loved ones, help emergency services communicate with each other when their radios are down. Everyone should get their license, in which case you get it for life and everything about it is free except the hardware.

2) LoRa

( https://krisconstable.com/bc-mesh-using-LoRa-devices/ now over 100 nodes in B.C. since I wrote this!)

Find and communicate with your friends. Send sats. No cell or internet infrastructure required

3) Handcrank & Solar for AM/FM/NOAA public broadcast

Basic: https://amzn.to/4eStkmC

A little more: https://amzn.to/4bBqS1d

I also like SSB & shortwave: https://amzn.to/3VSUh14

It’s all the necessary information I need. This guide was something I was looking for. Tnk πŸ«‚

Not gonna get any fucking licenses bro

The government doesn’t own the air
