#asknostr

I'm looking for different options to stack sats, add some privacy, and be relatively secure. I watched a video by blockstream that shows how to move sats from exchange over lightning, do a swap into liquid using Boltz, then wait to accumulate a bigger amt, then finally into cold storage onchain. I dont see much talk about liquid here on nostr. Is there something more i should research or consider about using liquid and boltz swap? I guess i'm hesitant to have too many sats at a time sitting in lightning, and i recently had issues with Mutiny wallet.

Liquid is okay,

aqua wallet does the liquid swaps for you through boltz

It's pretty simple to use, might be what you're looking for

Also mutiny sukkdikk I uninstalled it

Ironically, liquid has serious liquidity issues. Often you can't swap in/out due to no liquidity.

Ahh, ok . I'll do some more digging.

Super curious about this topic too.

I've been doing this for some time and have had no problems. I was using Sideswap (app) for this but currently using Aqua.

Thank you for the feedback.

If you are planning on saving a significant amount in bitcoin I would suggest a cold storage wallet like trezor or cold card. Buy the wallet direct from the manufacturer, don't try to get a cheaper option, that might be compromised.

Once you have that set up continue DCA or your current stacking method on your preferred exchange (ideally one without super high fees) theres a super good intro to this on r/bitcoin on reddit.

Lightning and any other layer 2 should be for small transaction and amounts.

Certainly not the only way to do it, but its the safest. I had bitcoin in celsius when it collapsed and lost a good bit until earlier this year when I was able to get some back through PayPal.

Imo if you feel like you're having too much money on LN, move it to the main-net and be done with it. The stacking and hodl should be on the main net.

I do keep my hodl on chain, just thought i might improve privacy a bit more.

new addresses, never seen by an exchange, and DIY coinjoin is all you need. I only use L2's for fun. Like zapping.

Do you have to run a node to do your own coin join? I'm not too techy.

You don't need to "run" the node (permanently) but yes you should use BitcoinQT. Coin-control is built into Bitcoin, by design. Here's a link to a three video tutorial Fractal Encrypt made a few years ago.

Thank you, i'll def look at this.

Pleasure. sounds more complicated than it is 😉
