If anyone has any insights into how to relatively easily distribute a newsletter via Nostr DMs with a way to add signups to an existing website I would gladly tip some sats for insight!

Isn't that the purpose of Nostr accounts? Create a "Seth's Based News For Bigbrain Gigachads" account on nostr. Post your news to that account. Anyone interested in subscribing to your newsletter can just follow that account.
Is it not just keeping a list of all public keys that are submitted? And then cgatting with them? Maybe require authentication in dm itself.
As soon as you realize how to do it, im in!

Would love to see this. Initially I thought you could distribute over private relay but I do like the idea of using DMs, as I think this would more closely mirror the experience of email. I see Mutiny is collecting npubs for their waitlist, but I’m assuming they’re just DMing their sign-ups individually. (Would be happy to be corrected on that.) I think that’s fine as a one-off, but not something you want to do every week if you have a lot of subscribers. I hope newsletter functionality gets built into Nostr. Perhaps eventually it could be like the (now defunct) Twitter newsletter system... with subscription straight from the profile page, but content distributed via DM rather than email. Keep us posted if you make progress and good luck with your upcoming newsletter.
