I often praise Android, but I can also complain about Android issues too. Though, this may exist on iOS as well. Often when traveling around town or walking around my neighborhood, my phone will connect to open WiFi networks that I've connected to before. This would generally be fine, unless I'm streaming music, a video, or attempting to do a voice search at the exact moment this handoff from cellular to weak WiFi happens. The result is whatever I'm listening to stops working or my search result fails. The fix is generally for me to say a swear word or two and then turn off WiFi until I return home. I don't mind switching to WiFi automatically, but not while I'm driving or not while I'm walking and streaming something.

That’s why I never connect to Wi-Fi whether public or secure. I never have that issue. That is not an Android problem that is cell phone problem. Happens to all phones when picking up a faint Wi-Fi when driving by or you happen to be in the vicinity.
