im starting a compendium of traditional medicine which has been evidence based by research. most of the herbs im studying are from the malay traditional literatures but as some of you are aware, the malay archipelago was the centre of spice trades back in the 15th century, so you wont be suprised of the cross cultural use of some spice with those used by the indians, chinese and african nations.

im thinking of taking a complementary medicine practice license as well . but the whole process cost about 245USD from training to licensing.
thats a whole lot of money i cant afford right now.
What an amazing idea! Will this be traditional medicine from all over the world? More and more I understand that plants, foods and spices are all medicines! If you eat a wide variety of foods, you receive small doses of these beneficial medicines. #medicine #health #grownostr #introductions
yeah. most of the time, the Malay traditional medicine are taken from herbaceous plants which originate from other parts of the world. for example, Senna Alata is a Malay traditional ingredients use as a i) antifungal medicine ii) constipation treatment. suprisingly, this plant is not native to us. it originates from the Mexico / Paraguay region.
what i like about Malay traditional medicine in compare to chinese medicine is despitw both being oriental traditional medicine, the malay use lesser herbs compound in treatment (chinese medicine tend to use elixir or herb mix sourced from different plants).
this is inline with modern medicine in terms of polypharmacy prevention and better understanding of dose-response relationship. in addition, the side effects of herbs can be observed better, and more longitudinal and experimental evidence can be done.
