wow, this might be a new interesting milestone šŸ‘‡

some people have seen highlighter.com:

they don't know about nostr but their curiosity is peeked

they read nostr:npub1dergggklka99wwrs92yz8wdjs952h2ux2ha2ed598ngwu9w7a6fsh9xzpc 's piece and get up to speed

they go around not being able to find who's behind it (I didn't include a 'by @pablof7z' šŸ˜…), the end up asking around or emailing random, non-existent addresses (e.g. info@highlighter.com) to try to get in touch

-------

very, very interesting

I truly think this type of use case is very close to unlocking a whole new leg of nostr userbase growth that will simply not be very active on nostr's social network (at first).

All the people that have reached out to me are INCREDIBLY motivated (they had to jump through a bunch of hoops to contact me, including reading what the hell nostr is!)

They all have the type of problem highlighter goes for in their mind for literally 15/20 years (interestingly enough, all people point to a number of year in this range).

is this the first few signs of nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m 's thesis playing out?

How about zapping new people welcome sats? I do it frequently and it’s magical for anyone who experience bitcoin & nostr together first time āš”ļøšŸ‘€

Yeah, I spoke quite a bit about this in multiple places. Gamify the introductions hashtag by showing top zapped introduction posts along with the number of sats zapped

There’s a feature request on the Damus repo to implement this vision someone wrote (maybe nostr:npub1zafcms4xya5ap9zr7xxr0jlrtrattwlesytn2s42030lzu0dwlzqpd26k5 ?)

I have another ideašŸ’”

Nostr clients should be encouraging new users to post their first note with particular hashtag like #firstonnostr and people zap those notes with small amount of sats always.

Yeah, that’s the exact idea; that hashtag is already used and called ā€œintroductionsā€

Cool šŸ¤™ would love that feature āš”ļø but everyone should take this responsibility of zapping those notes and promote support sats philanthropy. I’m already doing this but do not get no big support from nostr and community here.

It’s both sides of the same equation; apps doing the onboarding would present the option to the new comer and gamify it

Other apps or microapps would provide visibility to this hashtag

Decentralised collective efforts needed šŸ¤™ āš”ļødoing my part and hopefully others will join šŸ«‚šŸ§”

Yes! First thing is to include a first note draft for all new users. We have a design ready for this. Checking with dev team if this is on anyone’s radar.

After that I agree it will be great to include the excellent example first note.

Multiple, and dynamic examples could follow.

I am wary that auto-zaps of first note will be gamed. If there is a quality first note, this means high likelihood that nostriches will interact with it.

Trying to grok highlighter.com/my. I see it’s a team management system, and you can create (nested) lists. So are there lists managed by a team? Not sure what team management means.

Right now there is no team management.

The team part comes when I cross-pollinate further with nsecBunker

Would that mean a list that multiple users can contribute to?

Yes šŸ™Œ

How would you prevent list spam?

I guess you’d have one person select team members and they are the only ones who can add items to the list?

Only authorized people (I.e ā€œteamā€ members) are allowed to change the list.

Anyone (might, if not encrypted) comment on list items or the list itself. Tools allow you to see/hide/filter this easily.

You can already propose to add items to one of my lists for example, tagging one of my lists’ npub like nostr:npub1f0v4ryys99lgeq55qc7503hu39703aahtup94u7dk8dtqfkjlwkstjyppp or nostr:npub1tfzcrk7ly9u6e38rhl2rrm06vsgl793r9m8zf3kz78wq5qx0nnvqfqy0wj

The decision to move those items you propose into the list is up to the list owner

Who does the authorization?

The list owner ā€œwhitelistsā€ the team member on a team or list basis.

NsecBunker provides HSM policies that can enforce any arbitrary authorization.

Probably for lists like this a FROST solution would be better though but that’s way further down the line and nsecBunker is already here

So effectively, every list is curated by the listowner either directly or indirectly, by virtue of having control over who’s on the team

If Alice and Bob start similar lists, is there a way to merge them?

Can you share sommmme of the things they said?
