In 1953, communist regime in šŸ‡ØšŸ‡æ Czechoslovakia denied there will ever be a monetary reform. It happend one day after this announcement.

Regime effectively stole most of the wealth in one big swoop.

Exchange ration was innitialy a 5:1, but only for first 300 crowns of cash.

If you had more, you were labeled a capitalist pig and got 50:1 ratio. If you were the right kind of communist pig in the politbyro, you got a better rate.

It was even worse with deposits and state bonds.

But people will never learn. Communist do however. nostr:note1pmx6j0l3fll48q50dmfy563dxe3xy60etr37l8sgvdl7dyz55xtqadfslm

Honestly I'm not sure it's correct to consider those people communists. Yes, the ideology was communist, but the practical actions were far from communism. Using the same Soviet Union as an example, it seems to me that communism ended under Lenin. The Stalin period is hard to evaluate because of the war, but anything after that is definitely not communism.

Oh boy, I am sure as hell.

They stole the money. Then they collectivized everything. If you refused to cooperate they shot your dog and if you didn’t get the message then they staged it that you had an illegal weapon and they had to shot you too. Or they stole your cattle right away for ā€œgreater goodā€.

If you were considered a threat to a regime, they were able to destroy your entire life.

At least 300 people we sentenced to death.

Almost 400 killed in an attempt to flee the country.

Up to 7000 died in prisons and gulags.

There were up to 300.000 people sentenced to prison for political reasons.

Around 300.000 fled the country in fear of oppresion.

A lot of people commited suicide when they we threatened, or got their life destroyed.

For context - around 12-13 million people lived in Czechoslovakia. They were able to effectively destroy lives of millions.

State is your worst enemy. It’s the apex predator for humankind. And there is no way to excuse it but arguing about if it’s real communism, socialism or any other shit.

I am sorry to ruin it for you, I know you’re from Russia - I guess you would know better.

> They stole the money. Then they collectivized everything.

If they stole funds and distributed them to everyone, that's one thing, but if they stole funds and distributed them to the elite, that's another. And honestly I suspect the second one happened šŸ˜…

You are right.
