I will politely disagree: all human government is evil. There is no case in human history that I am aware of that passes a serious sniff test.
It's fine if don't agree, but I'm also not going to stop being a pedant about this point.

Simplify. Humans are evil.
Incorrect. Humans that want to rule over other people tend towards atrocity.
Incorrect. This is splitting hair.
you are joining hairs together that are 8 billion in number, probably about as much hair on your head
i suppose you also think that "violence" also means when you shoot back when you were doing nothing wrong
No, I don’t think that. I subscribe to the whole karma and reciprocity universality.
it's all good Beave and I'm not disagreeing that all or most governments haven't been bad or had some bad elements.
the thing is each and every thing in the world has elements like that. nothing is perfect. each thing is perfect in its imperfecton, in fact. etch thing fits together with all of its perfections, imperfections, and the middle ground. in Zen practice when you have given up entirely on the idea of good and bad and stop labeling each things as such, it's usually called signlessness.
for example country a and b are at war. a has reasons b is evil, b has reasons a is evil. both are right so who is evil?
(if i was a Christian i might say God wants it this way or designed it this way for a reason.)
IRL:
at the moment, I want a change in Canada to a CPC government which will lessen taxes, fix some broken shit, fix policing/crime, deregulate, etc. at the same time, i am aware that there are elements in that government that will likely go off the rails and could cause certain different harms than the past government has created.
if i vote for the 3rd option which is more Libertarian, we end up with the same government because the PPC doesn't have a chance or winning and are not even running candidates in each riding.
so, i am working with what there is to steer the boat away from a silly hard left turn that was disastrous and course correct but it could end up on the rocks.
if we don't have a government, we get no roads built and other things that people need.
you are right though in that we need less government. i'm wary of absolutes though.
love ya. ❤️🤙
I was thinking through this exact problem last night as I fell asleep. I haven’t exhausted all paths of thought yet, but so far I couldn’t come up with a single case in which government was wholly beneficial to either individuals or societally.
