That’s correct. Some believed that they actually were pretty much a part of the Russian military but they’re really just a private paramilitary organization.
I’m not sure. Putin is saying Prigozhin is a traitor and all that. But it seems like Prigozhin is only calling out against Shoigu the defense minister. He didn’t say anything directly about getting Purim’s ass.

Concentrated power is never a stable state. It’s always under attack, with paranoia a constant pressure for the top - or those who want the top.
It doesn’t help Putin effectively ran out of money (or is being seen to lead by greed) and/or basically wanted to underpay and send WMG in as cannon fodder. ‘If I’m [WMG] doing all the work, what’s in it for me’ logic is a strong opposing force.
I’d wager it’s actually been an fractionally published early strategy of the West and Ukraine’s military playbook - which is why greater and more immediate forced hasn’t been used or supplied to Ukraine.
some Russian experts saw that coming yet were shocked it happened now (and not after de-escalation of Ukrainian conflict).

Putin was afraid of anyone else also having power so he split all military institutions into small agencies (even if they share the same aims: FSB and FSO, Rosgvardia and Police).
bc he is a chekist, the only agency that got *any* power is FSB.
Prigozhin is (as i suppose) trying to find support in the elites of other agencies. since we had no public statements supporting him, the chances for him to get what he wants decreases
I think its good to wait and see on this. Too much "information" coming in for now.
