I would add that elusiveness is a form of power that doesn’t get enough attention. It is a form of defense that undermines someone else’s power. Think of encryption blocking feds from reading your private conversations. Technologies like that give plebs power.

Anything that enables you to make your imagination a reality is power. Usually it's framed as power to get others to do what you want, but it doesn't only mean that.
That's why I continue to espouse natural rights. I seek power only over myself, not others, at least not coercively. Maintaining that narrative ensures that all men can live in such a world, protected from predators. There's a reason it's the most successful cultural idea every created, and that is that it is a protocol that, for those who follow it, enable them to go their own way when they need to and ban together when they must. One value: leave us alone. Very powerful on it's own.
We are always using power. You’re exercising a form of power by sharing your views and trying to influence or convince me to accept yours. We use power to manipulate other people. Women have power because they use makeup to enhance their beauty and get the things they want. Men accumulate wealth and status to secure relationships with those beautiful women. We don’t really talk about how these are all just various ways to exert power on each other but it is. It’s our power that allows us to farm animals for food and harvest the earth’s resources for sustenance. Power is everything.
Yep, hence my qualifier "coercively". Every time I open myouth my goal is to influence someone's behavior. That's soft power. But soft power can be deceptive or not, it's deceptive when the behavior you wish to induce is against the interest of the target. I don't like to do this either.
"Think of encryption blocking feds from reading your private conversations."
Is this an endorsement of Monero?
How so?
Having an intellectually friendly discussion with shitcoiners and they think you’re endorsing their coin
he did point out that encryption *removes information from the public domain,
and how that provides protection for users.
Assuming financial transactions should have the same protections was normal until extremely recently.
I was listening to a podcast talking about the fourth turning. It talked about the cycles and how we are in the phase where we lose trust in institutions and eventually go to war then rebuild those institutions better. It just seems inevitable that this generation has to suffer to build something better for the next. And then the next generation will have things easy and benefit. But the following generation will suffer. And the cycle repeats. Our grandchildren may live in a world where everything isn’t cucked and KYCd.
Unfortunately I don’t see it.
I’m utilizing it in fixing what’s mine. So our children will be best prepared for what’s coming.
This is a historical pattern and the events so far are suggesting that it will continue. Devastating economic problems typically lead to violence and it’s easy for politicians to find a scapegoat.
It made me think, are we this annoying when we tell everyone that Bitcoin fixes this? 😂
I’ve never said that. No one should.
It’s complete bullshit. Bitcoin fixes money. The rest hangs on a Billions of people.
I say it all the time lol
I did too as meme as you do probably
but the charlatans started including themselves with memes and I had to stop.
Charlatans? What do mean
They’re not on nostr. They’ll be on the other platforms. Will show themselves soon enough.
Every cycle introduces these guys.
Oh like the ftx guys
It will be the ones that think they can humble bitcoin but in actuality they will get humbled themselves.
i wasn't gonna say it but...
