Ok, so the transaction I initiated on Muun wallet a month ago has been cp firmed and now I have a negative balance

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

How does this even work?

It’s a long story but this shows you how shitty Muun’s infrastructure is.

I initiated an onchain transaction that failed many times because I specified fees that were too low for what people were paying at the moment.

But, in between those failures I was able to extract 22.5k sats via Lightning, before Muun tried to rebroadcast the transaction again.

Today the transaction was confirmed so now I have more Bitcoin that what I started with.

So basically you were able to get Muun to pay you twice?

Yes, I was able to send to myself 105k sats onchain (+19.5k sats fee) ; and 22.5k via Lightning.

So a total of 147k when I only had 125k in that wallet.

This is bad, really bad for Muun.

Yeah... yikes. 😬

But. Good sat stack. Free onchain fee repayment! 😂

Exactly!

Got sats back! 🤣🤣

If they ever figure it out and set your balance back to negative, just delete the app. You never saw it!

Haha, that’s what I’m going to do. But even if the realize, how are they going to get a hold of me?

That’s the neat part…

It was an accident and completely their fault, but consider returning the money. Muun is goofy, but they have helped tons of people get into Bitcoin and lightning and are generally positive for the space. If too many people rip them off, they will go out of business and take everyones' sats with them. That would be bad for the network and the individuals affected.

I’ll do something even better. I’m going to send them an email explaining what I did (so they can fix this) and offering to send the extracted funds back.

😳

Genius! 😂

😲

🪦 Muun

🤣🤣🤣

It’s a new sats back program they have 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣

Did Muun double spend your coins? 🤔

No double spend, at least not technically what we understand as a double spend.

I think what I did was successfully trick their internal database. They infrastructure logic is buggy and it allowed me to transact via Linghtning although I had committed funds onchain.

This happened in between Muun’s attempts to rebroadcast my failed onchain transaction.

But then they just gave you a loan in bitcoin 🤦‍♂️😂

I got the fees reimbursed, so to speak 😅😂

I was able to exploit their Lightning liquidity pool when their internal logic thought I had received my fubds back after the failure of onchain transaction, even though their own logic was going to try to rebroadcast the transaction.

Muun is screwed, so screwed…

Damn 🫠😂🤣

I decided to send them an email explaining the exploit and offering to reimburse the extracted funds 🤷🏻‍♂️

👀 Wow! Glad I switched to Phoenix

Muun’s a complete shitshow. But this is the kiss of death for them…

I remember when a lot of plebs starting using it

sUbMaRiNe SwApS 🤡 loooool
