i am not gonna listen to music on wavlake forcefully, if there's not anything there that i'd want to listen to
same with anything else
i use nostr on my own terms
i use youtube also... but when it comes to social media and media sharing there's no reason i can see why to use the others when they deliberately distort my view of the user data to manipulate me
because people have friends that aren't on nostr
but if you are consuming the AI curated newsfeeds you are being manipulated, that's not the same as having a private discussion... like, telegram groups, that's something you might do with friends, but not posting on a public forum
really, you are fighting with everyone on a public forum, it's a place of debate not agreement, like this exchange now!

i won't get spoon fed either way, i can use one or the other, both or none
you'll eventually realise you are being spoon fed
i know the algorithms - marketing - personally curated agenda filled feeds do that
unless you're going analog, seems to be rather inevitable these days
on nostr there is no spoon feeding
my only other media intake is occasionally i scan through zerohedge and sometimes one or two articles look interesting enough to read but it's so repetitive mostly and to me, with my current understanding of the state of the world and the historical context, redundant and/or incomplete and/or pessimistic

haha yeah i agree about those dark patterns, and you know they put you in a high visibility position for a long time
relay admins being able to do what they want to do is part of the whole point of this, there is no uniform view, you can reject them by removing them from your relay list or change your client or mute the crap you don't like
orange pilling is boring as fuck, i also agree with that, i don't follow many things on nostr, only ones that are interesting or relevant, as a result i have way more followers than i follow because i stick to what i like instead of trying to find entertainment in the noise, and the noise level is very high
i am a bitcoin maximalist but i am not so stupid as to think that it is wise to isolate from and spend too much time raging against stupidity because it's a bad example to set, it's a waste of time, and that waste is that you aren't doing things that are actually productive and good uses of time
