Avid gardener and dirt player here.

Boa noite eu crio mudas de plantas enxertadas

That sounds very interesting

Hi there, we raise chickens, rabbits, peacocks, quail (off and on), and pigeons. Love gardening and growing food. Just gave you a follow.😊

We love our chickens and rabbits, their manure is astounding!! I powder it and use it for everything. How are the peacocks, anything similar to turkeys? Do you eat them? Do they lay eggs?

The peacocks are still pretty young, and we think its a male and two females, but not sure yet. They are my husbands pets, so not for eating. But we do eat rabbit. We were told the peahens will lay eggs, and that they are good mothers, so we'll see.

Would you be willing to mail a peacock baby? I feel like my wife would want me to ask that. We have a pet duck right now among the chickens. We did 2 turkeys last year and plan to do more this year, awesome birds. Do you do anything with the rabbit hide? I haven't yet, only eat them. But I'd like to try some crafting.

I think it will be a long while before we have any babies, but sure. As far as rabbit hides, my husband is tanning some now. This is the first time, so we'll see how that goes.😊

Its under my nails, i am going to be figuring out a water tower. This weekend.

Next month I’m going to take out the broccoli and start spring planting

I will be waiting till march :(

Dang

Its like 33 here in imperial

Laughs in Fahrenheit

I started mid March last season and in hindsight I was late. So starting early this year

Is now too early for some onions and dill? I was playing with old seeds and popped some eggplant and stuff, I'm also trying to pop some rhododendron seeds!

What growing zone are you in?

I am in zone 4. It is quite early, I'm just itching to play around!

Zone 4? Wow i am in 7a in Canada. Do you plan on doing a lot of flowers?

I've certainly got some nasturtium and marigolds, a few other pollinators. I'm trying to pop some rhododendron seeds right now as well

Nice grouping, I use sweet alyssum too as it attracts paracidic wasps. I am interested about your rhododendron

I am too, I know nothing haha. I had a small semi successful outdoor veggie garden last year, I'm new to the gardening world but I'm having fun. I've been very focused on creating a living soil, also. A microscope is the next thing on my "when I'm not broke" list, I'm gonna study microbes in my various fermented fertilizer concoctions

Will start germinate sweet potatoes soon! 🍠 i plan to grow them in dark colored boxes, so the sun can heat the soil! Trying to grow as much as possible because I really love them - it’s also first attempt growing them

Sounds like a good plan, keeping my fingers crossed for you 🀞🏻

Thanks Paul! 🌱🍠 will share updates!

Pictures please when they start growing

You can buy your starter potatoes at the grocery store. Just get the organic ones because the regular ones are sprayed with something to keep them from making slips.

Bury the potato on its side about halfway in soil and keep the soil moist but not wet. If you are in a colder climate then you will transplant the slips out into the boxes or if you are in a warm climate you can just grow from a single potato per box. Don’t put more than one potato per box, you’ll get a ton of vines and a lot of potatoes but they will be small.

The leaves are edible and tastier than you would expect. Cook them like spinach. The growing season is longer than you would expect and you can harvest once the leaves turn yellow and start dying.

Good luck! I’m about to start a new batch first of march.

Really useful knowledge! Thank you so much! Will keep you updated πŸ‘πŸΌπŸŒ±πŸ

πŸ€™πŸ€

I’ve been growing cannabis professionally for more than a decade πŸ˜‚πŸ˜Œ

Second this lmao. That and very hot peppers πŸ˜„

Grew these cayennes last year. They were bangin hot πŸ”₯

Those look poppen πŸ‘

Looks hella good. Not letting them ripen up more or last of the season?

yeah i need to start seedlings indoors soon

Is now too early for some onions and dill? I got excited πŸ‘€ and did some tomatoes and peppers too, even an eggplant. To be fair, I was just playing sith with very old seeds to check viability. I've even got a sunflower in there πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ hope the poor thing isn't too tortured before it's warm enough outside!

Sheep farmer here

Have been considering sheep! Do you use the wool for yourself? Do you eat the sheep?

I raise hair sheep for meat

i ate a stray passionfruit that had dirt on it this morning, does that count?

kinda feel like i need to really eat the dirt, like it would actually rebalance

I make compost and try to grow veg.

How do you compost over winter? I've got an inside barrel and a couple of worm bins

Lots of manure to make a hot pile. Charles Dowding on YouTube has a video about his somewhere in his channel.

Me

Not exactly dirt, but into kombucha.

Love it, my wife also plays around with kombucha and apple cider vinegar!

We try and do all the things that are natural and help keep a balanced life. Giving you a follow and a zap. Welcome aboard.

We do too! It's the way it was designed.

Right!!!

There’s more than a few of us around.

πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ backyard gardener here. Herbs and veggies for the family. Expand a bit each year.

What kind of fertilizer do you use? Do you have special soil? What did you start with, what are you adding this year?

Miracle Grow, the kind you shake not the water mixture. Mixture of soil, compost and some peat moss. We have a septic system and hubby diverted the water and added a sprinkler system to raised bed. Want to add another raised bed this year. Also have 4 hugelkulturs in horse troffs.

yes, I am slowly preparing to sow

most definitely do! Its a must.
