Trashed my HPs years ago and only own these now.

I bought my Brother HL-2040 in 2006. I still have it and it still works great. I only print 2 things a year though 😜
Once a year I take a HP printer to a back alley and smash it with a baseball bat.
Agreed. Just works. Humble. Stacking stacks of paper. Never failing to deliver. Good brother.
The third party toner is wicked cheap too. Can’t trust anyone with tech who doesn’t know about these
We issue these to all of our field photographers. Excellent choice.
Finally someone sees what I see. I have had a Brother for years that has went through long term storage and I have only replaced toner twice in well over 10 years.
Just bought one myself. HP is a shitcoin.
Good to know. I bought an HP LaserJet very cheap at a surplus sale at work. While it only cost $25 or something HP drivers are terrible. HP Smart Driver is not smart - one of my computers can't see the printer. I miss the good old days where you found the specific driver for the device, installed it, and it just worked without any obnoxious bells and whistles.
BL's just work. Even in Linux. Even in obscure distros like Qubes or NixOS. The motherfuckers cannot not work. I just Amazon subscribe to a new drum every six months and voilà , I have a device that commits information to paper on demand, almost as if that was supposed to be the experience of owning a printer all along.
Tossed em all out. No more boat anchors in my place. Just print at fedex for Pennie’s when needed. Easy
Laser printers are superior to inkjet, especially if you don’t print much. I have a 10 year old Canon laser that I’ve never refilled the toner on and it’s always ready to print, never fails.
I just tossed an HP for a Brother. Uses toner though. Fuck ink.
absolutely. I only print a couple things and it never gives me any problems
