The "continuity" excuse as purpose of having a "deep state" in America is so ridiculous to me.
The bureaucrats seems to think they're that important. The people need to prove to them that they're not.

There’s a reason why George Washington only served two terms when offered to be a king for perpetuity…change is good when the system is built on a strong foundation with three equal branches of power. Elected representatives > unelected and unaccountable bureaucrats who do not represent the people
