Good morning nostr, today i thought i might go buy some pecans at a pecan farm/store, but we'll see when the storms are supposed to come through. Yes, we have more storms in the forecast. 😒. Also, the meat market is not too far from the pecan place, so we might see what they have. Anyway, we'll see if the weather holds out, because we dont want to be on the road during a storm, they have been pretty fierce lately. GM Maria2k! Here, my pecan grove is shared by a herd of 27 horses who love them some pecans. Once the storms blow them down, we have to hustle to get in there before the horses eat ‘em all. Once they are wet, on the ground, they have a small window where they’re still viable

Rescued polo ponies do. October is when the groves around here are ripe. Usually storms come through and knock a lot of the fruit onto the pasture.

Yes. At this time of year I wouldn’t want any pecans anyway. But, when we pick in October, we have the horses nosing around in our buckets. Horses aren’t as dumb as folks say; they would much rather nose through the 5 gallon bucket of good pecans you have spent all back-breaking afternoon in the sun picking through pasture pecan groves (with hella horse patties) for good pecans.

Yes, and today's predicted storms are supposed to be severe. The pecan farm/store is near Lockhart, so about an hour away for us, but i've tried their pecans and they were very good.

Yes, we were talking about that yesterday. The humidity is unbelievable! I was outside yesterday and in 15 mins my shirt was sopping wet with sweat. Its miserable. Someone mentioned that we're getting some smoke from fires in south america??
