Well. I finally made it onto Nostr on recommendation from our media team. They were tired of listening to how much our crew despises FB, G, IG etc.

Not sure how this works, so I guess I will say something about myself, which feels weird, so forgive me if this is not how it's done.

My name is Cam. Some people know me as ShipWreck from Lucidity Festival (2012 - 2016), others know me as Cam PoiZen.

I work with Rebel Bass Records (Stanton Warriors label) am signed to Interlink Records as Heuristic (non-exclusive), am unsigned (turned down many a lable, but am open to the right deal) as a country, blues, rock and jazz singer/songwriter. I do stand up as well.

I own a venue, bar and guest house in Siem Reap, home of Angkor Wat https://colyve.com

I come from nothing, was on my own from a young age and have been lucky enough to build and lose several empires through the years along the way.

My home base is Cambodia, which is being invaded (for real, I am here, Thailand is inside Cambodia taking up forward positions and replacing Cambodian flags as they take each village killing civilians indiscriminately)

With all that said, I want to be engaged in a meaningful way with emerging networks outside the domination chain of the now old guard of Silicon.

So... What do I do? Where do I go? What the fuck is this amazing thing? Is this actually real? I'm love all things open source but have no idea how to go about this lol.

I am so grateful to know next to nothing and am here to learn and grow with this protocol.

Thanks for having me. Ask me anything. I have a wealth of experience and am happy to share.

How did you find Nostr?

Our head of the media team told me about it. We are pretty (well, totally) anti Meta and Goog so he said I would like this better.

Personally it's great and it also appears to be very useful for certain aspects of my business life.

I always wished MySpace won the social media war. Now with this, I can see the glimmer of it's past.

Welcome home 🫂

#introductions

Thank you. I didn't know # worked on here

Welcome

Hi 👋 glad your here on Nostr

🔥🧡

Thank you. Seems pretty interesting so far. I wonder what possibilities there are for Record Labels. Seems like a lot of blank canvas to paint on which is fantastic. The Rebel label is super different as well in more ways than one.

Thank you for saying hello

Welcome to nostr!

Good luck with that war going on :/

Yeah. It's a strange time. Thailand has an unrealistic advantage without international intervention. Cambodia doesn't have a single fighter jet or attack helicopter. All they have is ground troop transport and Vietnam era throw aways that were left behind which were already relics of the Korean war.

Welcome to Nostr. And great intro. You sure have a lot of interesting stories to tell.

Welcome Cam.

You should probably setup a bitcoin lightning wallet & put the address in your profile. Then we can zap you if you provide valuable information.

🤙

Thank you. I should learn how to do that I suppose

Rizful.com provide a reliable, easy & free way to get started in receiving zaps.

Same as any other place - talk to people.

Yeah. Thank you. For a person with 70+k followers to even take the time to say that is a welcome surprise.

Followers don’t mean much here 🤣

Conversations do 🫂

Seems like it. What other clients do you recommend? I am thinking to drop some super rare bootlegs from some of our artists via wavlake, but other than that I have very little idea if what's good.

I just made https://nodecast.xyz/ (music over nostr) but it’s fairly beta and not much content there and I’m not sure if I’d call it good 🤣

Happy to provide some music from one of the labels. Let's drop a track :)

Welcome Cam 👋

Good to meet you. Engineer at a long established indie label and general noise maker here, welcome to Nostr.

Nice one. Would love to hear some of your artists!

40+ years of back catalogue… I’ve only been a part of it for the last 10 years, started being the ‘Ableton guy’ for gigs but during Covid the regular in house engineer moved on and I took his place.

No big Pop names but some pretty legendary artists in the broader world of dub/industrial etc.

Been a very good year!

I'd book industrial out in Asia for sure. Who ya got in the area?

Bossman Adrian Sherwood’s bookings are all done through BeatInk but we’re potentially in Australia in the spring, lots of EU and US gigs in the diary.

Welcome to Nostr

Welcome Cam!
