Big blocks are more centralizing in the long run and they are inevitable if enabled. Everyone would have to download them to be self sovereign. Lightning can be used in a self custodian way, many people just don't want self custody. They used exchanges to store BTC even at times when Blockchain was small in size.
It’s hard to tell if Roger Ver is a scammer, or a victim of many scams. Perhaps he is the most malicious liar in Bitcoin history.
I don’t really care. He says everyone should hold their own keys, privacy is important, and Bitcoin can destroy the central banks.
This is the message of Bitcoin. If Roger is using this message to scam shitcoiners, I don’t care. The message is far more important than the messenger.
Michael Saylor does not like this message. His message is that Bitcoin needs to separate itself from the cypherpunks.
The big blockers were right about one thing. Big blocks are far less centralizing than KYC custodial lightning.
