I've said this many times. Developers keep making shit messenging apps. It should cost 21 sats or less to spend a message or it will just become a spam fest.

For sure. Im just raising the point that it would exclude some. I get the trade off. And hey, im furniture if it stops the spam.
Poor people don't use Bitcoin apps. So it won't exclude them. They can continue to use the free corporate apps like Facebook, eventually they will make their way to the Bitcoin apps.

You are touching the mindset of developers. They want to keep everything free, many are socialist because we were born into this socialist world so they aren't capable of thinking in a capitalist system.
They burn themselves out eventually because they aren't capable of understanding how to defeat the spam.

Proof of work is being implemented to create a cost to spam. If the proof of work is not done, your client will not show it. And if the proof of work is done, your client will show it, but the spammer will be able to send fewer messages.
