Leader of the Privacy Guides project is now pushing the narrative privacy/security are only for criminals:

Everyone with integrity already left the Privacy Guides project a while ago due to their heavy involvement in harassing GrapheneOS project members.

no updates on noderunners anymore?

So what is the best alternative resource for newbies?

Graphene is still recommended as an operating system in their guides. I didn't see where he said that

I'm not familiar with the Privacy Guides project but I think a growing number of people are realizing it's far too easy to have your status changed from 'law-abiding' to 'criminal' by nothing more than a majority vote by corrupt members of your local, state or national legislature.

I've lost count how many times my state or federal government has turned me into a criminal. I suppose the first time was when the tobacco age was raised to 18. My high school used to have a smoking area for students. I used to ride my bike to the grocery store to buy mom a pack of smokes if she got low before 'grocery day'.

Then there was the time they raised the drinking age to 21.

Seat belt laws.

Under-18s riding in a pickup bed.

Selective Service ensures that young adult males can become a criminal by literally doing nothing. Or do they now require females to register as well? I can't keep track.

As a young parent, I became a criminal when the state raised the 'child booster seat' age from 5 to 8. I'll note that none of the lawmakers who supported the original law's age designation of 5 were ever held accountable for their short-sightedness.

To that extent, privacy/security ARE for criminals or rather, 'soon-to-be-designated' criminals.
