When I look at how hard people are working on their homesteads I think, “wow. Maybe we’re doing it wrong.”

Then later I think, “or maybe we’re doing it right.”

That has crossed my mind too. Although i think part of that is just the the love and enjoyment of it.

I think no size fits all 😀

And I hope it gives everyone what they hope for. 😌

It seems like one of those things that can be front-end heavy, but grow into simplicity if it's built for simplicity long-term. Getting systems and infrastructure established is hard, but they can be designed for long-term ease... or not. Those type1 errors will kill ya

I’m always designing to reduce work. To mimic nature. To question busy-ness. I’m always looking to remove parts. And steps. And breakability.

I know I'm working hard right now bc this is a new place for us, and I'm not getting any younger so I want to get systems (and perennials) in place sooner rather than later. I actually enjoy working in the dirt, but I also like the aspect of doing work that will enable me to eat more from my own backyard. Sounds like you're on the other side of doing all of that?
