Went to another crypto exchange event last week and one of the most interesting question I've been asked by a crypto guy is "When will Bitcoin have a real layer 2?"

To them, Lightning network, liquid, fedi, cashu, are not 'real' layer 2. A real layer 2 'must have its' own token so people could "invest in the technology" '

They are not interested in Lightning because "it couldn't work" and that "it's not a real project."

I don't feel compelled to answer so I just laugh along and listen to their other woes.

We really do live in a different world.

Bitcoin L2s are a much better experience than eth, in eth you always have to bridge between different layers/protocols. In bitcoin all protocols are interoptable with LN. Liquid, cashu, fedi, and future implementations all LN compatible.

I never understood how the shitcoiners were able drum up their "L2"s because the whole point of altcoins was to establish L2s as unnecessary. Their idea is that activity/use cases which couldn't "scale" on Bitcoin would seek out "other chains" with "scalability"; alternative Bitcoin uses expected to bleed out to the shittoken space

For the shitcoiners to come up with L2s is a self-admission that their base layer is pointless.

Whenever I point this out to shitcoiners IRL, it's always just speechless blank stares🫠

Many of these guys are relatively short lived, from what I gather they considered people holding rock jpegs 'OG' so they wouldn't understand any of those points.

You don't survive long by being stupid I guess.
