Halfway through a 96 hour fast…

Current mood: feeling ok. A bit chippy here and there but it’s wearing off now that I’m done serving everyone else dinner. 😂

Questions for the experts:

What can I expect after 72 hours?(that’s the furthest I’ve gone)

If I’m feeling good at 96 hours, should I keep going? If not, why?

Any food recommendations for coming off the fast? I’ve been planning on a steak with bone broth, but I’m all ears.

How often can I fast for 24 hours or more?

Longest I have done is 5 days.

I find once you get past first 2 days all feelings of hunger/cravings go away. You just have to keep yourself busy and let time pass. As I find time goes slower on a fast and feel a bit weaker than normal.

Time has stopped lol. The hunger is definitely waning. Does it come back at any point in your 5 days?

I really didn’t feel the urge to eat. I just decided to finish my fast as I felt I was becoming a bit light headed.

When I came off the fast I usually eat steak and drink lots of water. Buts that’s me. I would avoid junk toxic food as the whole point of fast is to detox and give your digestive system a rest.

Good to know. I totally agree avoiding toxic junk food. Which is one reason why I’m preparing good food for when I’m done.

Wow that’s a long one! What’s been helping you get through it so far?

Fruit is great to break the fast :)

Water and keeping busy with work/family. Honestly, not a whole lot different than normal.

I think 72 hours once a month is a solid schedule for all of the important fasting benefits.

I like half an avocado as a fast breaker. Then 12 hours, than the steak.

I think eating once a day is the healthy way to maintain body weight. Eat what creates satiety and happiness for one hour out of 24. If you’re looking to lose adipose tissue, same meal every 48 hours. Blood insulin reduction is the key, and goal here, insulin presence blocks the fatty acid metabolic pathways.
