Yea but here is an example. For instance samourai wallet people were very brazen about allowing certain people to use their whirpool tool and tweeted about it now those tweets being used against them in court. Imagine being a developer who builds privacy tools and you did the same on Nostr and now want to delete that history to protect yourself. Its sad that in the current state of Nostr they would not be able too.

If you're doing stuff like that and you're not full anon, you're doing it wrong.

Yes but any human that has government after them is never truly anon there is a mistake made eventually so being able to delete history is important when a government turns adversarial

If you suspect the government is after you, you definitely should not be posting to Nostr directly. Or using the Internet very much at all.

Drip the relevant information out through trusted channels and let the memes arise slowly "naturally".

Look at Snowden's advice. There is no protocol or hardware that will reliably protect you from state actors - definitely not "pls delete my note, remote server thnx" requests.

one can forge allies in guv also/they r people just like some of Us w/same problems/just have to make an effort/more of Us

sum of Us

I have not been convinced of the "white hat" deep state stuff.

talking more state stuff/should've said

not federal

Well prior to tornado cash and whirlpool prosecutions no one developing lightning or privacy tools had any reason they would be Targeted. Things change. Why a proper delete function is important imo.....

But your probably right if your building certain things you should definitely not be posting and only use secure channels to communicate.

You're right about that.

But given that the scope of things that "may become illegal in the future" is basically arbitrary and infinite, at some point you just have to throw up your hands and say "I feel morally okay with what I'm doing and I'm basically powerless to hide in perpetuity if I want to share anything I do".

Some day this may not be the case, but I believe it is today, sadly.

Not sad at all. In war some soldiers fall...

Nostr has been broken....

One warrant for the data on your realy, if they even need it....

I don't see relay owners fighting the government to protect the community.... and I watched almost everyone on nostr running from WoS, after them saying fuck off to USA regulations. Folks ran from WoS just to protect their comforts at home while running to KYC strike, because it's a legal operational bitcoin business that has to give your data to government to operate and using it means your comforts at home arnt at risk....

To me, most of yall look like rats running around a plexiglass box that can't remain morally straight.

Your in the fight risking your comforts, or complying.

Most of yall have your pant leg caught on the fence..
