I worked 36hrs a week while going to school. It was a busy time, prepared me for when I would have 2 jobs & kids.

did you just lie to different participants, so they would think you're fully commited to them?

I never worked in my field, so it was more along the lines of here is my availability book me in

oh, got it

Yeah, I did retail in the winter & irrigation in the summer

What's irrigation exactly?

I installed automated watering systems at houses & in new parks. I was a shovel

Is this USA or Germany?

neither

Sorry for asking like that intrusively, but I wanted to point out that in some regions there are legal obligations for the companies and they could get into trouble

huh, noted for future

During undergrad I got in trouble with the IRS and had to pay back a lot of money on top of tuition and living expenses. I worked at a sandwich shop during the day when I wasn't at classes and I had a night job at an emergency maintenance call center for the dorms. Between both jobs I was working full time 40-50 hours as a full time student. It's possible!

I did graduate, and I did pay off the IRS bill. But I also got mediocre grades and fired from a few of the jobs because I was only sleeping like 4 hours a night and sometimes fell asleep on the job.

In hindsight, it was kind of dumb. In spreading myself so thin I wasn't able to excel. I thought I was just not smart / bad at school and had to do a lot of internal work to come to the point of: it wasn't that I was bad at school, it's that my peers all had financially supportive families and I was dealing with a financial anchor around my neck.

Good luck, friend! It's possible but pay very close attention to sleeping and eating habits because if you're going to treat your body like a machine you have to fuel and rest like one too 🫂

I worked part time while going to school full time. Managed ok.

part-time/flexible full-time would be ideal yeah

i've sent out like 35 applications at this point

tough crowd

applying in the field of study?

everything really, including the field of study

would love to have a roof over my head and food on the table during my master studies
