Why combine both variables (married, homeowners)? Seem unrelated.
Today many couples think formal marriage is overrated. I can't blame them, legally you can have the same by just signing a shared household contract. That didn't exist in the 50s. Besides the stigma of "oh, they live together but aren't married! 😳". Nobody cares nowadays.
I think there's interesting value by looking at the (presumed) decline of homeownership of 30yo, but combining that variable with marriedness seems pointless and distorts the otherwise interesting data beyond recognition.
think those under 30 might be a little pissed off about being told to be happy while owning nothing? sheesh
