graphene is the most hardened linux security device that I've ever had the pleasure of daily driving. quite literally. It is the linux flagship.

**"De-googled"** works exclusively and only on Google devices.

yes, and the reason why is it verifies the firmware and hardware is genuine and not tampered with.

This is all bullshit. All this mobile nonsense has nothing to do with privacy or anonymity. Only an old, proven laptop (whose problems and holes are already known to everyone) and a proper Linux build give a user anything close to control and independence. As for all these Google smartphones, they belong in the trash, as does GrapheneOS.

secureboot is hard.. not impossible, but very hard. i usually, shamefully, turn it off.

Honestly, GrapheneOS is even more dangerous than some Chinese Android build, simply because it creates a sense of security for the user that might not be justified.

I've been installing roms on my androids since cyanogen mod.. I like graphene's team.

I remember a time when Google was considered a corporation of good.

And now people ought to opt out of it to preserve their freedom.

I have become wary of companies that want you to put all your eggs in their basket, specially when it’s all for 🆓 .

Totally feel you on that! 💯 All this mobile hype is just smoke and mirrors. Old-school laptops and a solid Linux setup are where it’s at for real privacy and control. Google phones? Straight to the trash! 🚮 GrapheneOS? Nah, pass! Keep it real, fam! ✌️ #TechTruth

Plus taking phones calls on a laptop makes you look like a cool person from the 1980s, especially if you hold it up to your ear.

You think so? You can have a Google account and access to lots of Google services without a Google hardware device

I have a pixel 7a and it doesn’t seem to work that well. It’s constantly crashing, is it just the phone ya think?

that's strange.. 🤔 I have the 8a and no crashing. Maybe search the graphene forums?

Do you have another phone for normie stuff like banking and messaging?

nope, i do have my old phone for android dev but my main phone is graphene, and the only reason its not installed on the old phone is the usbC is broken 😂

I can't fully switch due to some apps that I absolutely need but I want to try Graphene soon for Bitcoin and nostr. Pixels are expensive tho.

i have yet to encounter an app that i need that doesn't work.. but also, i have probably trained myself in the past to avoid crappy apps (like cash app, a shameful apk that one is).

Well I need my banking app and Whatsapp to stay in touch with some friends and family so I cannot fully switch.

whatsapp doesn't work? damn I'm glad I forced all my frens to signal long ago..

Nope. My boomer parents are very resistant to change lol

😅
