We work in a hybrid situation. If I'm in the office doing nothing, not a word.

If I'm at the house and my teams bubble goes to "away" for too long, I start getting hit with productivity questions. Suddenly leadership becomes super interested in my projects.

Stupid thing is, because Teams is in the web browser, unless I'm active in the browser, it's always "away".

Oh I see.

I think my employer judges mainly on results, so I'm okay using what I like at home as long as it works, and most of the time that means using #Ubuntu or #Chromeos so my teams status isn't really available until I'm actually called or calling someone.

So, similar spot, I use Ubuntu. The irony here is that because teams is in the browser, it inactive most often while I'm actually working.

I wrote a script to keep the screen active when I'm not at my desk. 🤷‍♂️

So dumb.

What you really need is a better boss :)
