its crazy how much ai content has taken over the algo on the centralized platforms. It would be nice if we had a *i verified this person in real life tag* in nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z βs relationship status spec so that you could build *real person* web of trust follow lists.

how would I prove to you I'm human
Through meeting. When I understand nostr:nprofile1qyghwumn8ghj7mn0wd68ytnhd9hx2tcppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0qythwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnswf5k6ctv9ehx2ap0qyt8wumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnddaehgu3wwp6kytcpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhsqgpjuxp8vd29p6ancknaztql3eajk52y8xkppfn7au7elkw9c68zg59r80f0 right it is not about a general standard. But rather a personal list to be able to mark accounts you know in person from those you only got to know on the internet.
but i don't know IRL people.... What will i do??? π₯² Has someone came up with a deposit some sats somewhere and sit in escrow type system. I guess that's pretty easy to do for bots too though but would at least limit them maybe.
That is the intention of this draft proposal (Secure Profiles):

Example draft UI wireframe (animated):
Though I am not sure the world will be split between people and non people. It is likely that we will all follow and love AI content in the future.
yes there's still generic-follow/contact list web of trust for that
At some point I wouldn't be surprised if we're mostly communicating through proxy avatars. You're away doing stuff while the avatar soaks up your feed + interactions, you come back to a compressed feed of high signal where you read out what is most relevant, respond to interesting comments. The avatar learns your responses, improves its confidence in answers so you don't need to be subject to redundant information over time.
But, like, there's just no point to it.
Go read a book, instead. π€£
shoe on head is a good solution
I want to keep track of which npubs o verified in real life, but I don't keep track of it well enough because I store that information in my head. It would be great if I could store that in nostr events instead...
It won't be long before AI is posting better content than people. Don't forget that all of the blogspam up until now was from a "person in real life".
I would team up with friends online and mark myself as "verified" even though I never met them. Just to have a cool "real person" badge.
It reminds me of Facebook when they added relationship status I set my relationship status as marrried to my best friend. Everyone thought we got married but we did it just because we thought it was funny and we were teenagers and bored.
Then we started adding random strangers and added them as our family. Mr Aboo was my son for the longest time even though he was a black African and looked much older than me. π€£
The lesson here is your verified in person idea won't work.
