An anecdote that I always forget to tell and want to put on Nostr.
I had a former coworker who was a communist and had belonged to a communist political party. They won an election in the city council, and he was also a councilman in charge of garbage collection.
One day we had an exchange of political opinions. I told him that everything stems from individualism and that no one can force anyone else to do anything, that freedom comes first.
He told me that my ideas were worthless, that human beings are social creatures and that everything is done in community, and that if ten people like him got together and beat me up, my individualism would be over.
This man once held public office.
Deep down, he was right: those of us who seek freedom are in the minority, and our physical integrity is threatened by collectivists.
