Do white Americans right now feel like they're too good to work in manufacturing? I ask this because you're still the majority of the population.

You probably won't be able to compete with the Chinese due to decades of disadvantageous trade agreements that hallowed your mid-west of industrial plants, factories and jobs.

If your industrial base is not even close enough to compete, America needs to industrialise, hmm again.. and do it FAST!

It's just easier to print money and pay the chinese and everybody else working and producing goods.

That turned out well didn't it

It will be catastrophic if they don't do what you just suggested above. Even if they start now, there's too much debt everywhere in the USA.

Nah, Americans love manufacturing, but monetary policies by the banking cartel made it impossible for them to run their businesses profitably.

Meaning, banks didn't want to lend that money?

Meaning American manufacturing was deliberately killed to increase the cartel's power.

Imagine the horror of having sovereign citizens who can build their own machinery and infrastructure without their consent.

US manufacturing was largely killed by its own managing capitalists, because there was more profit to be made overseas.

NAFTA really shat on a lot of it.

The condition of more profit to be made by manufacturing overseas is a direct result of monetary engineering in a world where all the currency is fake. It's really hard to believe that can ever come about naturally.

Afraid it's not hard to concieve. In a world ruled by bean-counters, there will be constant pressure on management by the owners to increase the margin of profit. Especially where the owners are not human, but other corporates.

By any means possible.

That's exactly what I mean. But in making the argument, I'm falling into the same trap Austrian economists fall into. That if people didn't cheat the system, it would never fall into ruin. But cheating the system is so easy, that it's actually the natural state of the economy.

Funny if the money is fake why do real products come out of it.

Fiat money is an illusion that looks like real money when it changes hands, so you believe it's tied to something real and exchange something real for it.

The illusion is all well and good until things start to break, and you need the real thing, only to find that there isn't any real money at all. There's just debt and the false promise of real money to pay it back. The fiat economy can never stop moving or else the illusion will dissipate.

Yup all kinds of money are an illusion. Fiat is the best we have.

I am obligated to respond with

in China, youth do not want factory jobs. the same stigmatization has occurred over there only faster.

Even if they did resist, their government will demand and still make them.

yeah, sad and true

Manufacturing ( like social media ) has network effects ( advantages ) .... Once you lose it , it is almost impossible to get them back ... You always need something new to beat the past .. cuz going back is NOT an option ..

It didn't completely disappear, just less of it.

Yes .. we still have usenet and IRC :-) .. but social network is now Meta !

That ship has sailed. Geniuses maybe not so much. We’ll see…

This varies by state, but every manufacturing company I have worked for had a large portion of white people working the factory floor. From Alabama to Michigan.

I don't think racial identity is the critical factor in US manufacturing problems. More of a tiffin dilemma situation.

Working an assembly line seems like hell. Minutes must feel like hours. The repetition would drive me nuts.

It's not for everyone. Though I think conditions might be better in the American standard. You won't have people jumping off the roofs if they don't meet their goals. Maybe.

I LOL’d

I don’t think it’s a white people problem , unlike what’s portrayed white people in america actually work all kinda jobs despite the stereotypes , the problem is that U.S. factories are completely outdated. And trying to fix it is like dragging a dead corpse . The delusional americans who think we can reindustrializad prob have never been to say taiwan

If we try to , we’d only reach 1970s-level production, and we don’t even have the infrastructure ( we’d have to build high speed transport which we don’t have , better power and energy systems ) to support all of this ! So there is no way this would be possible , it’s too late , that’s the reality of things

Dang.. that sounds bleak.

I don’t think you realize how outdated US infrastructure is , we don’t have trains let alone high speed rail , they got planes and ran with it , if you see our port fulfillment you’d think you traveled back to 1920 , barely any basic automation in ports , power grids shut downs if it’s a little too hot or too cold , California has rolling blackouts like a 3rd world country , water infrastructure falling apart , we’re just running on vibes right now

Tsk tsk.. so what now? Just keep the printers running? Surrender to the imminent downfall of the empire?

They have to turn their economy from financialised to industrialised. The structure now is not as it was during ww2 and the years after. The infrastructure is admitedly old also. There is little chance to return to manufacture even with tariffs. White or black has nothing to do.

Keep also in mind that Trump is a real estate guy gain income from rent, not manufacturing. The democrats are even worse on manufacturing.

Were pretty good at manufacturing bombs, missiles, jets, helicopters, submarines and rockets. We forgot how to make chips, computers, and textiles. We pretty much sell the former to buy the latter. Time to wake up the giant, again.

there are lots of people who would. the factories just aren’t here anymore.
