It's not the ad, it's the color contrast of white against cyan.

This is probably why companies pay absurd sums to just be visible somewhere.

You don't need red to create an optical illusion of red.

Our brain creates red because there is a pattern that can make our brains imagine red. This is pronounced because they chose an image containing a red can of soda which satisfies/validates our brain's assumptions. You could do this with a can of Pepsi and it would still be red if the same procedure is followed.

but there is pink, and pink looks like red with glare. It's not that shocking

It's more of an off-white. The cyan coloring makes your brain go "this other shit is red by comparison so I'm making it red"
