Itโ€™s all about the prep work. Good lather, steam hot towel, followed by ice cold cloth.

Any particular razor you recommend?

Safety or straight blade?

Straight

For safety, I started with a Rockwell Razor. Itโ€™s a Canadian company.

I love Feather razor blades. Japanese stainless steel platinum coated. Germans make some good blades too.

I bought vintage straight razors.

I switched from fiat shaving (modern disposable blades that look like fucking spaceships) to bitcoin shaving (brush, hard soap and classic safety razors) more than two years ago, and never looked back.

If I had full thick facial hair and the need to keep a close shave every day, I would absolutely do straight razors. It's just overkill for me.

Yeah, I rarely use the straight because Iโ€™m usually in a rush. The classic safety razor is still a really nice shave. I enjoy the prep work too.

Absolutely. For me it's those 15-20 minutes of selfcare that does it.

I most likely donโ€™t need to go with a straight, but what the heck!

That's right!

Itโ€™s badass ๐Ÿ˜

Donโ€™t cheap out on the bar of soap to lather warm towel is key my friend

Something like this with 100 pack of razorblade and you set for a long time.

Practice on a balloon. Youโ€™re sure to know when it goes wrong and not nearly as painful as practicing on your face

That's a great idea. Curved razors are the worst.

Thanks, I think Iโ€™m going to try a straight razor!
