If my app serves a global audience of 8bn people.

And the state of one small 20m person country threatens to fine me $50m if I don't obey arbitrary rules.

Do I

a) try to comply and manage for risk, or

b) turn off the country?

Hopefully turn off. Punish the lot of us for being so stupid. Would be great to see it backfire.

It's not your first problem getting started, not even your thousandth.

If they start enforcing end of 2025 then you have time to run many iterations.

You're right of course. I may be a bit more battle scarred than most when it comes to regulatory risks. Can you blame me?
